We are now just days away from the go-live of One Touch Switch. On 12 September, we look forward to welcoming another 50 brands into the live directory to join the 20 already participating in the ramp. Well over 99% of UK residential customers are served by CPs who will be in the live directory on 12 September, and we look forward to welcoming the remaining CPs as soon as possible after this date as they progress through their OTS journey.
This week has seen another doubling in switch orders placed in the ramp. This makes a total of 6,100 to date, with 890 of these switches now completed. As a reminder, we regularly update our daily progress along with sharing key lessons learned from the ramp. Please take the time to review this important information, as it is crucial for the OTS process to work effectively.
You may be aware of Ofcom’s announcement this week of an extension of the Notification of Transfer (NOT+) process (see Bulletin 68). Please read this letter carefully – we have seen this presented as a delay to OTS go-live, which it clearly is not. As the letter clearly states, “providers are expected to use OTS as the primary method for all switches…” CPs should redouble their efforts, including working collaboratively with each other, to ensure that their systems, processes and data are optimised so that matches can be made as the OTS process requires.
Our focus remains on preparing for the OTS go-live on 12 September. We are dedicated to supporting those ready to enter the live hub and assisting those still in the earlier stages of their OTS journey.
On the day itself I will be attending and speaking at Connected Britain, specifically at 12:40 PM at the Connected Society Theatre, to celebrate this significant milestone. I look forward to meeting you there – please come by and say hello.
This is a very exciting time for everyone across industry, which has worked so hard to implement OTS. I look forward to next Thursday’s go-live, and we will share initial data with you as soon as possible.
That is all from me,
Paul
