DECIDE

Before onboarding, CPs face an important decision in their approach to onboarding to the TOTSCo Hub: connecting directly or connecting through a Managed Access Provider (MAP).

  1. Connecting directly:
This option involves CPs taking full responsibility for adapting their systems and processes to complete the OTS process. It requires resources, including technical expertise and dedicated personnel.

  2. Working with a MAP:
A Managed Access Provider offers services to assist CPs in connecting to the TOTSCo Hub and managing the necessary message exchanges. MAPs can provide varying levels of support, from basic technical solutions to full management of the OTS process on behalf of the CP. For full information on each MAP solution see Working with Managed Access Providers.

COMMON MYTHS ABOUT THE OTS PROCESS

Several myths and misconceptions about the OTS process can lead to inadequate preparation or delays in compliance. It is crucial to address these myths to ensure a smooth transition:

  1. Myth: CPs Can Leave It To The Last Minute To Get Ready:
There's a misconception that CPs can leave the OTS process until the new year. However, the complexity of the OTS system and the impending deadline make it imperative for all CPs, regardless of size, to begin preparations as soon as possible.

  2. Myth: Full MAP Services Eliminate All CP Responsibilities:
While a fully managed MAP arrangement does offload significant technical burdens, CPs are still responsible for certain tasks. One critical task is data cleansing – ensuring that customer data is accurate and up to date. Relying entirely on a MAP does not absolve CPs of this crucial responsibility.
